I’ve gotten a lot of asks about this and have specifically avoided answering them. In the interest of transparency, I’ll explain why now that things have died down a bit. So, regardless of what the case may actually be
I can either say:
- Yes, that information checks out she was doxxed. Or
- No, that information doesn’t check out, she wasn’t doxxed.
If there was an attempt to doxx her, and I say “No, that information doesn’t check out she wasn’t doxxed,” then the people who made an attempt to doxx her will know they failed to get the right info, and try again — thereby just harassing someone else. If I say “Yes, that information checks out, she was doxxed” then the people who did doxx her will know that they got the right info, regardless of speculation that they didn’t, and continue the harassment.
If there wasn’t an attempt to doxx her, and I say “No that information doesn’t check out, she wasn’t doxxed,” Then a ton of people freak out again and things escalate until someone says “Let’s show this lying jerk what a doxx really is!” and someone else gets harassed. If there wasn’t an attempt to doxx her and I say “Yes, that information checks out.” Then either people start harassing some random people who had nothing to do with it, or (in the case that the info both came from Zoe and is correct) people harass her family — that is, they just harass non-random people who still had nothing to do with it.
All possible outcomes from confirming or denying are bad. So the only acceptable solution is to avoid commenting.
As for WizardChan – I honestly have no fucking clue.
